Misa Spring Collection 2009

Image
Welcome back to this blog of mine! At this point I'm just using this to document nail polish collections. This one by Misa is perhaps the oldest complete nail polish collection that I have. Most of these were perfect in two coats, except for the one that required three coats for opacity. Let me show you the swatches! Dirty, Sexy, Money A slightly soft turquoise creme. Perfect in two coats for opacity. On The Edge A bold navy blue. Perfect in two coats for opacity. Push Upon It A deep berry pink creme. Perfect in two coats for opacity. Right Here Now, No More Later A slightly softened sky blue creme. Perfect in two coats for opacity. Speed of Life A macaroni cheese orange. Perfect in three coats for opacity. Stop Rewinding, Just Fast Forward A bright, tomato red creme. Perfect in two coats for opacity. So there was the collection. I actually loved it and how just about every single color looked on me. The only bad thing about this was the original tone of the pictures: dark, dark,

My First Nubars! Nubar Get Hot Collection

Image
Well, hello again and welcome back! This is only my second post today and this time it's about my very first Nubar collection: the Nubar Get Hot collection. Now, I don't know when this collection originally came out but I do know that I ordered it from Nubar's website in March (or was it April?) of 2014. I will tell you before I show you the swatches that all three of these eight polishes required at least three coats. Some of them were perfect in the three coats, but the thicker ones could have used a fourth coat for opacity. Still, however, I stop at three coats. Okay, here they are! Hot Red A warm, spicy candy red that looks a bit textured Hot Orange A bright orange that looks either like a carrot or like orange juice Hot Yellow A bright, egg-yolk like yellow Hot Lime Green A light, bright lime green, the kind that looks like the inner flesh of the lime. This one could have used the fourth coat. Hot Green A bright lime green, this time the color of the outer skin of the

China Glaze Spring 2015 Road Trip Collection

Image
Hello everyone and welcome back. I have a new post for you, but the collection I'll show you today won't be new to a lot of you. It's not new for me. Meet, the China Glaze Spring 2015 Road Trip collection. (I ordered this from either Trans Design or Head 2 Toe Beauty, or one of those other places. They were $3.29 each.) All of these colors took three coats and at least half of this collection could have used one more coat for four coats opacity altogether, but I stop at three. So, let's get started. Boho Blues A light cornflower blue creme Dashboard Dreamer A baby blue with a slight bit of copper flash. You can barely see it in this swatch picture. I Brake for Colour A bright candy red creme, just missing the bar for a crelly formula License & Registration Pls A near primary blue crelly More to Explore A nearly neon, icy coral creme My Way or the Highway A near perfect turquoise creme, also an almost-crelly Pack Lightly A pinkish peach with that slight copper flas

Morgan Taylor Spring 2021 Out in the Open Collection

Image
Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog. Today I have a wonderful collection of polishes to show you. In the post below I'll show you six nail polishes from Morgan Taylor's spring 2021 Out in the Open collection. Four of the six nail polishes (two-thirds) in the collection used two coats for full opacity, while the other two took three coats. Ready to get started? Be Free The first color in the collection (and the fifth one I swatched). A salmon pink creme with a touch of brown for grounding. It showed more vivid on camera than it does on my nails in life. This is the first of four polishes that only required two coats. Dancing in the Sunlight The second color in the collection (and the first one I swatched). A whitish-silver sparkle with a bit of a blush base. I like this one as a wash of sparkle on the first coat but this also looks good built up on its own. Removal, however, was messy because of those damned sparkles.😉 This is the first of the two polishes that needed

My First Polishes from Pampered Polishes

Image
Well, hello again peeps! I'm back with a new post. This time it's about an indie polish brand that's new to me. I ordered these from the Pampered Polishes website and while I received them in the mail on Tuesday, I collected the package today. I can't wait to show you the photo swatches of this new collection. Here goes ... Oh, these are shown in alphabetical order although not swatched in alphabetical order. I'll get to that. Footprints in the Sand This one is a sandy, putty beige creme and the first one I swatched. I got it fully opaque in three coats. Lighthouse A lovely medium aqua (or turquoise?) creme and the fourth one I swatched. I got this one fully opaque in three coats. Makin' Waves A very shiny primary blue and the fifth one I swatched. This is shown in two coats although I think this may or may not have used a third. It was a bit of a stainer after removal though. No One Likes a Shady Beach A beautiful dove gray creme, and the third one I swatched

China Glaze Holiday 2020 Jollywood Collection

Image
Hello again one and all and today I have a new post for you. This is from China Glaze and it's the Holiday 2020 Jollywood collection. There are 12 polishes in the collection, but I have 11 to show you today. I ordered these babies from Polish Pick and ordered all 12 of the polishes, but I only received 11 of the polishes. The only one I didn't receive was the green jelly with holographic bar glitters that, once on the nail, looked like a Christmas tree. Pine needles and all. So without further ado, here are the swatches of the 11 that I do have. Most of them are fully opaque in two coats, except for one in which I'll share later. Deck The Malls A deep navy blue with blue and silver sparkles. It looks kind of dark gray because I couldn't get the photo quite right. Famous Fir Sure A light green frost. This would look more like a chrome except that you can really see the brush strokes where I couldn't quite get them straight within the two coats I did for this polish

Holo Taco Polish Haul Spam

Image
Hello everyone, I'm sorry I haven't posted for a while. I needed somewhat of a break in between maintenance of this blog. Anyway, I have a five polish spam post of a nail polish haul I ordered back on October 1 and received via FedEx on October 7. Here they are, the five new beauties I bought from the Holo Taco website.   Play Rosé A coral toned base with tons of holographic glitter Lemon Sucker A French's mustard toned yellow with holographic shimmer Linear Holo Taco Holographic shimmer in a clear base. Shown in two coats over One Coat Black (pinky and middle fingers) and Indigo Away (ring and index fingers) Indigo Away A deep indigo creme. This color is everything for me. Purple with Envy A bright purple multichrome with a strong blue shift. So, here are the five. I thought my absolute favorite would be Purple with Envy, but I was wrong. Indigo Away turned out to be my favorite. However, I have to call Lemon Sucker as a very close second favorite. It was the first yellow
