My Second (and probably last) Nubar Polishes: Nubar Prism Collection 2009

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! Today's new post is about the Nubar Prisms collection of 2009. Now, I'm not sure whether this was intended as a holiday collection or a fall collection or what. I just know that I bought this set of eight polishes from a seller on eBay for $49.99 back last week and today I received them through the mail. I finished swatching them more than two hours ago (but not quite three), and so now I have the swatch photos for you. Being that "Prism" is in the name of this post, these polishes have micro holographic glitters in them (some more prominent than others, that's for sure).

I will note this: three-quarters of the collection set required three coats for opacity. However, one "jewel" and one "prize" each were perfectly opaque in two coats. So without further ado, here are the eight shades.

Absolute
A baby blue base loaded with micro holographic glitters. This took three coats for opacity (and unfortunately you can see a bit of bald spots on my nails simply because I was so impatient for this polish to dry completely before applying another coat)

Brilliant
In the bottle it's a cool baby pink but on my nails it's warmer toned. (Ladies, I must say something: your skin-tone mileage may vary when wearing colors on your nails. So, whatever looks warm on my nails might be neutral to cool on yours, depending....) This one took three coats for opacity.

Essence
This one, for me, is kind of hard to pin down. On my nails this looks much more like a cooler terracotta pink. (Like I said, nail polish on nails skin tone mileage may vary.) This one took three coats for opacity and it looks like it's textured when it dries.

Gem
A cool taupe with strong micro holographic glitters. This one took three coats for opacity.

Jewel
A rather cool-toned chocolate brown in the bottle. Still brown, but just a tad warmer on my nails. This is one of the two (😉) named polishes that took two coats for perfect opacity.

Prize
A beautiful bright ruby polish with quite a bit of micro holographic glitter (and also a textured finish). This is the other of the two (😉) named polishes that took two coats for perfect opacity.

Spark
A perfectly nude base spiked with micro holographic glitter. This one took three coats for opacity.

Treasure
A grape-y purple base with micro holographic glitter. This one also took three coats for opacity.

So, there has been this entire collection. Lovely, wasn't it? That said, I don't know if I have any favorites since I loved all the polishes in this set. Until next time, ❤ and 💋 everyone!
